Miral is sure to become one of the best movies of the year. It is unlike any other movie you will come across. It is the story of 3 women’s lives and starts with Hind Husseini in Jerusalem in 1948. She turns her own house into an orphanage and school for Palestinian girls. Then, the movie movies on to the 1960’s where you meet Nadia, a runaway who has been sexually abused and has alcohol issues, and Fatima an ex-nurse who tried to set off a bomb in a movie theatre and gets three life sentences. The two meet in jail after Nadia attacks a woman on a bus. These stories of these women will reach out to you and will open you mind to a world that you may not have even known existed. You’ll put Miral on your top movies list for sure.
