One of the best movies of the year has got to be Meek’s Cutoff. It is a different kind of movie than you are likely used to seeing because the director likes to have a unique slant to it. It has some great scenes but that is not the best of the movie. The movie is about three couples that set off on a journey across the Cascade Mountains. Their caravan is led by a rough character named Meek who is supposed to know the area very well, but it doesn’t take long before he’s set them astray and they are lost. As they try to wrap their minds around their predicament and come to terms with the idea that they might starve to death out in the wilderness, things get very interesting. This is one of the top movies that you have to have on your watch list this year.
